Back now! We had a lovely time in Devon, though as usual it went too fast! The weather was pretty good, apart from the last couple of days! But we found plenty to do whatever the weather! Rather than boring you with lengthy descriptions, I'm just going to post picspam instead! Dial-up users be warned - there are a lot of pics under the cut! Including a couple of *gasp* me! (And a fair amount of Aedan, obviously, though not exclusively...)
A slightly overcast view of Brixham, where we were staying. It's a lovely old town, full of character! The ship is a replica of the Golden Hind.

Aedan was sleeping in a single bed. Sometimes not alone... (And sometimes he fell out, didn't wake up and spent the night on the floor!)

Buckfast Abbey, which was stunning inside too, but my camera didn't like it!

The steam train at Paignton. We didn't get chance to go on it, but Aedan was quite happy to watch it for ages!

Just being cheeky!

Enjoying the view

Paddling in a nearby cove, on what turned out to be the last day of good weather!

Jupiter is *really* not a fan of the water. This is deep for her!

Hiking back up afterwards

All smiles!

It was raining quite a lot, so instead of the zoo, we went to a place called Bygones. It was an absolute treasure trove of nostalgia. They even had a life-sized victorian street, with model shops laid out just as they would have been. It also moved on to cover up to the 1960s.

I felt old when I saw this - I have that tea set! Same box and everything! Which is strange considering I wasn't born until 1979...

They also had a HUGE model railway. Aedan was *very* impressed!

Swimming in the park pool

Me and my boy. :)

Date: 2010-08-25 04:40 pm (UTC)From:Bygones looks like an awesome place. We love going to places like that. Thomas the Tank Engine was big in this household for years. Kidlet would have loved that model railway at that age.
