Reply to this post by yelling "Words!" and I will give you five words that remind me of you. Then post them in your LJ and explain what they mean to you.

1. Rumil
2. Archery
3. Aedan
4. Fish
5. Celegorm
1 - Rumil. My number one Elf... there are many others I love but ultimately, I always come back to him. I remember being in a large AIM chat and there was a lot of 'Elf-claiming' going on. All the 'cool' Elves were taken and I liked Haldir, so it seemed logical to pick one of his brothers. I chose Rumil and well, the rest is history! Apparently, the *really* cool Elves were hiding. ;) In my world, Rumil isn't the youngest, but the middle of the three. He's also the rock, the one the others rely on, as Haldir's too busy being important! :P I usually like pairing him with Lindir or Thranduil... I think he's hoping for a threesome one day!
2 - Archery. Believe it or not, I was into Archery almost a year before I got into LOTR. We went to stay with some of Neal's family and they had a bow they used as part of charity events. I only tried it once but that was it - I was hooked! I've recently gone back to it after life got in the way for three years! I'm *really* glad to be back shooting and maybe in a few months I'll be ready to compete again!
3 - Aedan. LOL how long have you got? My not-so-little bundle of joy has changed my world into a far brighter place. Watching him grow is wonderful and with every day that passes more and more individuality shines through. He loves to swim, play outside, eat bananas and annoy the cat - but he hates nappy changes, vegetables and being told off for using the cat as a pillow. It's a little scary really, how fast time time flies... in a couple of months I need to be thinking seriously about his second birthday party! He'll be in school before I know it, how scary is that?! But it's all good, because we have a great time together... swimming, toddler group, going to playdates. Sure, there are times when he's naughty and frustrating... but I can never stay mad. He's just too damn cute and cuddly! Some of my friends already have second children, but I'm happy to wait... my little boy still needs all my attention and I like it that way! :)
4 - Fish. I've kept goldfish on and off all my life, but when we moved here I got a new desk with a shelf that just seemed ideal for a fishtank. I bought a second-hand tank from ebay and decided to give tropicals a go. The first few months I made a lot of beginner's mistakes and lost a lot of fish. I almost quit, but in a last attempt to suceed I bought another tank. This one ran perfectly and my confidence returned. Then my neighbour offered me her old 125 litre tank that she didn't need, free and for nothing. I set it up in Aedan's room and it was another success. Shortly after that I discovered bettas - and as a result I now have 6 tanks up and running! One day - marines! :D
5 - Celegorm. I've never been the biggest fan of the Feanorions, but I first got into his character while playing in an RPG. The pairing was odd - Celegorm/Orophin - but it was fascinating enough to make me read more into this Elf. Although the person that played Celegorm is no longer around, my fondness for him has remained, maybe even grown. I am fascinated by how different he seemed from his brothers and in my humble opinion, seemed to have lost more than most to the Oath. I love Celegorm/Orome as a pairing and have an odd desire to write Celegorm/Luthien too!

Date: 2009-09-19 08:30 pm (UTC)From:1. Family, yeah - constantly entertaining, permanently worrying in one mild form or another, even when they ARE grown up and they ARE independent! I realise this makes me sound like a geriatric but its true!
2. Amazing to be in and photograph. Having a camera that lets me get up close and personal has been the best thing! Though Lizzie did say the other day, 'when you go to Hidcote (went with my work colleague in the summer) please take some shots other than six inches away?"
3. AHAHAHA! You know I would LOVE to know where I put that signed picture?! I stuck it somewhere safe and can't find it! Those old elf on a shelf days were so much fun!
4. Final Fantasy rocks. Just...pretty PRETTY men, ass-kicking weapons, leather...tortured angsty heroes...what more could one want? And the SLASH potential is enormous.
5. Painting - love, visiting galleries - love, drawing, messing about on photoshop or painter - adore. I ALWAYS have.

Date: 2009-09-19 05:23 pm (UTC)From:It's rough when it goes wrong though. How about this - empty tank. New sand, new filter sponge. Nothing added, still no fish. And yet - nitrites of 1ppm. Whut?
