Argh.
I went into get Aedan this morning and got the SHOCK OF MY LIFE - he was out of the cot!!! He was sitting on his toy tractor, playing away, happy as anything! I don't know how he managed it. He obviously got out very carefully (he's quite a cautious child) because there was no noise annd he definitely didn't hurt himself.
Gaaaahhh! I need to find a way to keep him in his cot - and get window guards in case that doesn't work! (He probably wouldn't climb out the window, but why take the risk?)
I know I could convert the cot to a bed, but I think that would be a bad idea at the moment. He tends to play himself to sleep and if he can get out I'll *never* get him to bed! I'm glad we keep his door closed though, at least he was contained!
Oi.

Yes, I remember it well! I'm having a nice jog down memory lane... I'm thinking Becky was almost 2 before we took the side off the crib. But she did manage to escape quite a bit before that. And she learned to open the door too so we used one of those nifty doorknob baffles for a while.
Today I looked at my almost 11 year old and got all teary eyed, remember the sweet baby she was... *sniff*
Gasp!

When my son was young he wanted to have a Micky Mouse toy in bed with him - so he could use it as a step to climb out!

't say anything, then peeked round the side of the door when they didn't know I was watching and saw Nick scrambling out of his cot, up the cupboard using the door to kind of perch on and rolled onto the top bunk. After that I put the ladder back, it was actually safer!!!

my daughter was the worst. She was walking by 10 months and climbing everything by 11 and that included getting out of her crib. I gave up after that and put her in a todler bed. ironicly she stayed in the bed until I went to wake her up every morning lol
