Quick Question

Say you have a fic on your hard drive, unfinished and unposted. Hardly mentioned to anyone. You have a plot point that's fairly central to the story. One day while catching up on your reading, you find that another author has written a very similar scene. It's complete coincidence of course, but you are left wondering if you can post yours. What would you do? If your fic was a fair way off of being postable, would you just assume no one will notice? Or would you try to find a way to rewrite?
