So, despite the drama of Wednesday evening, I managed to have a nice day on Thursday. Hubby and I went to Canterbury, did a little shopping and had lunch at a really nice restaurant near the river.
In the evening we met
geuzegirly and Steve for the Kent Beer Festival. I was gently told off for not calling her after the smoke bomb, which I *should* have done, but my brain just wasn't working properly by then! Still, she fussed over me and we had a good chat. *Hugs her*
I limited myself to one drink, eventually picking a beer that tasted like cherries, but
geuzegirly kindly chose beers I thought looked nice, so I could take a sip and get the one I really liked! I've all but stopped drinking because of Baby - this is only the second in four months - but after some reading and careful thought, I decided one would be ok. (There's a lot of debate about this, I know.)
The festival also had a have-a-go archery stand and, while I disapprove strongly of mixing archery with alcohol, it did give me chance to talk to some of the club members. I miss archery a lot and have been wondering if I can shoot while pregnant, as our new house isn't far from a club, unlike here. They said they can't see why not, as pregnant women are encouraged to do some exercise and it's not a sport that is overly strenuous, using just the upper back and shoulders. (Much like swimming when using breaststroke.) I still want to hear it from a woman who has done it, but I'm hopeful. I'm just a happier person when I can get out and do things and that has to be better for the both of us!
By the time we got home, I was so exhausted, I just went straight to bed! I'd had very little sleep the night before and desperately needed to catch up! So I slept for ten hours. *Sheepish grin* It was a good day though, one I really needed.
In other news...
I appear to have won second place in the Orophin and RĂºmil category at this years MPAs. Cool. Now I just have to write something for the awards by the 29th. *Nervous laugh*
I've had confirmation from work that I can leave on Wednesday! Luckily, I had enough holiday left to cut down my notice period. This means that, with a little luck, I can move at the end of next week.
I want a sausage sandwich. *Wanders off to get one*
