Unsuitable
It is an unsuitable match, they say. Though the bond he once held has long since been declared void they do not think me an appropriate partner. I am too young, too different.
I am pushed instead towards one of his sons, closer in age to me and more fitting politically. Yet though they are good friends, I could never love either. They do not make my heart race whenever they look at me, and I do not follow them with my eyes when they cross a room. Only their father has that effect on me.
Maybe one day I will make them understand that love does not care what is suitable. That it knows only what is right. Or maybe I will not.
Whatever happens though, he will forever be the holder of my heart.
