This is a general rant. Feel free to skip.
OK, well that was quite a day.
Let's start with the earthquake, shall we? That's right, an earthquake in SouthEast England. Reports say it was a 4.7. And if you don't believe me
click here. Now I didn't feel it, though that could have been because it didn't spread this far in, or I simply slept right through it. It did happen at 8am on a Saturday morning after all!
geuzegirly was already on her way to London, so didn't get shaken about either! Still... very odd way to start the day. I mean, this is England, land of the moderate. Earthquakes? To hell with THAT.
Moving on...
Smudge decided to gift me with another slow worm. Thankfully this one was in a far better condition than the last and I returned it to the garden quite sure it would be ok. As it wasn't bleeding I took a closer look... they're really quite fascinating. But I just don't want them in my living room.
Moving is becoming a joke. Of the viewings booked, maybe half have turned up. Usually I'm just left twiddling my thumbs. What really sucks is that even the next move is unlikely to be permanent. Most likely we'll have to move again within a year. Joy. I just want to be settled... both at home and at work. As I have no idea if my contract will be extended, I'll soon have to start looking for something else, since there is NO WAY I can be unemployed again.
I miss archery a lot. I think it's been two years since I last shot seriously. There's nowhere round here that I can get to on my own - I don't drive and hubby's almost never here. I really want to take an evening class in German too.
The whole thing is making me feel very down in the dumps. Sorry for the pity-party.
