Personal Stuff
Oct. 14th, 2005 12:47 amWhat with all these fics, pics and birthdays, I haven't really done a proper update in a while.
Things are... OK, I guess. I've had a mixture of good and bad luck these past weeks.
Last week I found out that the house I've had my eye on for months has been sold to someone else. That really got me down - I'd set my heart on it. But there was nothing to be done - until we sell, it's hopeless. So I've stopped looking for now... I don't want to get my hopes up again.
Today I had my work review, which I was dreading. Luckily it went much better than I'd feared and my manager was very nice. Unfortunately my job is still at risk. Due to know fault of mine, the courses I organise often don't run. Either lack of staff, students or funding gets in the way. But at least they know I try. I should be safe for a few months at least. If we can move by then it won't matter anymore as I'll get a new job.
The cat is sick. We suspect tapeworm, which considering all the mice he eats wouldn't surprise me. Hubby is going to try to sort it out on Saturday. *Le sigh*
On Saturday evening I'm off to the 50th birthday party of my favourite uncle! Family get-togethers aren't usually my thing, but I adore my uncle and he's really just a big kid, so it should be fun!
Of course, by far the best news I've had this week is that in January
luin77 is coming to stay for a few days! We're meeting in Germany in December but only for a day, so this should be even better! I can't wait!
Well, I think that's pretty much everything for now! I am now going to finish this glass of yummy port (from the bottle Eni brought last time she visited!) and go to bed!
*Huggles to all*
