The Good, the Bad - and the Lucky!
Aug. 16th, 2004 10:33 pmWell, this morning started terribly! That wouldn't have been so bad, except it just kept getting worse! Here, my friends, is a list of just *some* of the things that went wrong today!
*Oversleep
*Get to work to find that no less than two people were expecting to see you at 9am. It's nearly 9.30 and these are totally seperate things!
*Get the new students enrolled, only to discover half the paperwork is missing. The fact that I ensured it was all there on Friday is Irrelevant.
*Get a message that there's a 'problem' in the media centre. Investigate to find that some *prat* has decided to re-coat the floor in the videoing room - in the middle of a two-week course! No other room is suitable and have to send students home early.
*Another tutor says that she can;t work wednesday moring - despite have had the dates for months!
*Discover that there are only two students booked on the afternoon course. Neither turn up. Dozens of desperate and ultimately pointless phonecalls ensue.
*Go to the bank and find out I have £4.50 to last until payday - in ten days.
*Leave 45 mins early in a foul mood. Still manage to miss the bus.
*Finally get a bus, but still have a twenty-minute walk in the pouring rain.
*Get back to parents place, keel over on the sofa, soggy and somewhat depressed at being alone all evening.
I think there might have been more, but I won't bore you with it!
Then, about an hour ago, I *finally* got a break! Last week, my parents PC died! Tonight I decided to have another look at the cursed thing. Suddenly, the printer made a funny noise. Taking this as a sign I disconnected it - and got into safe mode to run a system restore! The printer is still out, but the PC is working - thank Eru!
Here's hoping tomorrow is better!
