Finally I'm getting around to posting my report on the fun I had last week! Sorry it's taken so long, I am a terrible procrastinator!
Putting it under a cut for length and pic-spam - it starts with my trip to London and goes on to cover the Sci-Fi convention!
Last Thursday I met up with
enismirdal and
nellasofdoriath in London. Had bee looking forward to it for ages and it was well worth the wait! Got to take nellas to many of my favourite places in London - The Bead Shop in Covent Garden, the sci-fi shop and Camden Market!
I think Camden was the best bit - I love it there, it has so much life and character!
Nellas and Eni near Camden Lock

We actually ended the day back at my parents - it was cold and we'd done all we wanted to, but it was too early to say goodbye! So we hi-jacked what was once my room, had coffee and watched Galaxy Quest! During this time my parents had to cut the power (they were putting a new light switch in) and my dear dog managed to step on the remote and turn the film off, but we did eventually see the whole thing!
Was sad to see them both leave, I hope we can meet again soon!
Then on Friday I headed of to the SF Ball. I love this convention, it's just the best one there is. We tend to splurge on the 'gold' tickets and so we get to go to the 'party with the guests' on the friday night. They also feed you - a very good thing indeed!
We attended most of the talks on Saturday - the frist of which was Garret Wang, Harry Kim from Star Trek Voyager. He's... a bit of a character!

We also had Elisabeth Sladen, who was Sarah-Jane Smith in Dr Who. When my mum found out I think she was really jealous as she's a big fan! We got her an autograph though, so yay!
Other guests included James Callis from Battlestar Galactica, Mira Furlan from Lost and Babylon 5, Jerome Blake from Star Wars and a selection of Kingons!
Now speaking of Jerome - we were on his table at the dinner on Saturday night. After the meal, hubby went to the little Trekkies room and he came over to see me. Then he told me a have a smile that lights up the room - so of course I grinned and blushed like a fool! Of course he didn't want to get 'in trouble' with hubby (as if!) so he waited for him to come back. Somehow, this led to the two of them, erm, well... *giggles* Look!

After that... well things did get a bit fuzzy as I'd had rather a lot to drink! *Grins*
Sunday was more talks and then an evening disco and... karaoke. NO I did not sing. LOL. But there were many who did...
This is Chip. He cannot sing - but he's very sweet! :P

The SF Ball crew. They work SO hard, so they always cut loose on the last night!

This is Phil. he didn't sing. He works the Ball too - and he was a bit tired!

Mind you, we all felt a bit like that by Monday morning! But it was well worth it! Good thing we've already booked for next year! :D
